Photography enthusiasts and petrolheads alike will jump at the chance to bid for one of the 614 lots in the Robert White collection selling at Bonhams later this month. White, who died last year, founded one of the UK’s leading specialist photographic retailers and the sale includes his cache of vintage Leica cameras alongside rare wristwatches and vintage motorcycles, motorcars and motoring mascots.
Bonhams hopes the sale will raise more than £2m for charity – the star lot, a 1930 Bentley Le Mans-style Tourer is estimated to fetch £250,000. Other highlights are a limited edition, manual-winding George Daniels 18ct yellow-gold wristwatch and a c1929 Megolo Touring motorcycle (pictured). All proceeds will aid cancer treatment and facilities at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in White’s home county of Dorset.
